We recommend the Château de Marouatte – a private castle with expansive grounds, a swimming pool, beautiful gardens, and cozy shared spaces. But since your itinerary is completely custom, you can also opt for other types of accommodation – whether that’s a countryside B&B, a luxury hotel, or a charming boutique stay. It’s your trip, your choice.

For maximum flexibility and freedom during your stay, we recommend renting a car from either Paris or Bordeaux, but you can also take the TGV fast train from Paris’ Montparnasse station or Charles De Gaulle (CDG) Airport to Angoulême, which takes about 2-3 hours. That said, group transfers from and back to Angoulême station to and from the castle are included on tour dates and all details will be provided upon registration.

Meals are tailored to your preferences and can include a variety of experiences – from curated local restaurants and guided food tastings to private dining and wine-paired meals. We’ll help you design a dining plan that aligns with your group’s culinary interests and dietary requirements.

Pack comfortable clothing and good walking shoes for daily excursions. You can choose to dress up a bit but know that this trip is meant to be pretty casual.  It’s always a good idea to think about packing in layers, and you may want to bring along a light rain jacket and small travel umbrella in case of occasional rain.
