Welcome to my new blog, and website, the Continental DRIFTER. It’s been a long time coming but this is a project I’ve been working on for quite a while now.
My Goal with the Continental DRIFTER Blog and Website
My goal with the Continental DRIFTER blog and its accompanying YouTube channel of the same name is to provide simple but powerful travel advice and photography tips, plus a whole lot more, on a weekly basis. Each post and video will be designed to make your travels easier and your photography even better.
Not only do I love to learn, but I love to teach and share what I’ve learned with like-minded travelers who are enthusiastic life-long learners…like me.
Watch the video above for a brief introduction to my soon-to-be-launched YouTube channel of the same name.
Just a Bit About My Background
As of this writing (August 2020), for more than 12 years, full time, I’ve organized and led over 100 international tours around the world (and 100+ domestic tours in the U.S.). This has been accomplished thanks to my PhotoEnrichment Adventures and new Alla Campagna Experiences travel brands.

During that period, through my multi-day tours I’ve introduced over 1,000 enthusiastic travelers to new and interesting destinations, just some of which have included Bhutan, Nepal, Romania, Turkey, Cambodia, Vietnam, Spain, Italy, the Baltic States, the Republic of Georgia, Armenia, Morocco, the Adriatic, Cuba, Costa Rica, and so many others.

Let’s Get You Outside Your Comfort Zone
My goal is to inspire you to hit the road, to step out of your comfort zone, be bold and to try any number of new and interesting activities, both virtually (through my blog posts, photographs and videos) and in person.

Just some of those activities and experiences include, for example, riding the Bamboo Train in Cambodia, dogsledding and photographing the Northern Lights in Finnish and Swedish Lapland, sleeping in a Berber tent and riding camels at sunrise in Morocco’s Sahara desert, sampling and tasting some of the finest wine and olive oil in Portugal, Spain, Italy and France, and so many others.
Not only do I love to learn, but I love to teach and share what I know with like-minded travelers who are enthusiastic life-long learners…like me.
Get to Know the Locals
Through this blog, on my YouTube channel, and especially in person on my tours, I want nothing more than to introduce you to interesting locals and watch as you marvel at talented craftsmen and -women doing what they do best, often in their homes and places of business.

Over time we’ll meet a family of flamenco guitar makers in Madrid that goes back 5 generations, and get inside the fiery den of a family of blacksmiths in a rural region of Romania known as Bucovina.
I’ll show you how they make and bake bread around the world, including Mother’s Bread in Georgia, lavash in Armenia and we’ll even explore a process called bread beating in the Transylvania region of Romania (sorry, you’ll have to wait for that post for a more thorough explanation!).

It’s Also About the Food & Drink
We’ll break bread (pun intended) and/or sample the local specialty drink with our new friends, and when possible learn the process for making it. And as a 3rd generation restaurateur myself and amateur foodie, there’s few things I love more than to try new foods and learn how it’s sourced, prepared, cooked and eaten (my favorite part), and I plan to share these experiences with you.
